Two have-a-go-heroes rescued a woman from inside a burning house in Chiswick, this morning.

The pair came to her aid after fire broke out at the property in Rothschild Road, at around 1am.

But she was later declared dead.

Twenty firefighters from four stations battled flames for nearly two hours at the building – a house converted into flats.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, a London Fire Brigade spokesman said.
