Traffic officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision after a pedestrian ended up under a delivery lorry in south London.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Service said it was called around 9.30am on Monday to reports of an injured man in the road by Carshalton Ponds.
He said officers arrived to find the man lying in the road at the junction of North Street, Pound Street and High Street under a delivery lorry.
Paramedics attended and the man, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital by London Air Ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said his next of kin have been informed, and the the coroner has been notofied of the death with an inquest set be opened and adjourned in due course.
The spokesman said the driver of the lorry stopped at the scene but was not arrested.
