A man accused of stabbing a father-of-two to death in an underpass more than 12 years ago denied murder in court on Monday.

Kwayle Appiah, 36, is accused of killing 30-year-old David Scott in the underpass beneath Monument Way, Tottenham, in the early hours of August 24, 1999.

Mr Scott, who grew up in the Northumberland Park area of Tottenham, was found collapsed near the scene and was pronounced dead in hospital shortly after.

Appiah, also known as Kwame Appiah, of Denham Road, Barnet, denied murder at the Old Bailey and was remanded in custody until his trial, on a date to be set.
