Sixteen-year-old Osman Bangura of Wilmot Close, Peckham, was sentenced to a minimum of 14 years and Isaac Walters, 15, of Marchwood Close, also Peckham, was sentenced by Judge Stephen Kramer to eight and a half years at the Old Bailey today.

They had both denied murdering the 16-year-old GSCE student who attended St Columba’s Catholic Boys School in Bexleyheath as he got off a 96 bus in Upper Wickham Lane in Welling on July 1 last year but had been convicted by an Old Bailey jury.

Yemurai died from a single stab wound to the neck after he was attacked in Welling.

The judge lifted reporting restrictions due to the seriousness of the offence.

The court had heard that the boys were traced by police in Brighton and were arrested on July 5 last year.

A third boy, aged 16, was acquitted.
