Julie Sheriff, 16, was left in a coma for four months when a 15-year-old allegedly stabbed her during an argument about boys, last September.

A witness at the scene likened the impact of the fatal blow to the sound of killing a goat “back home.”

Hackney resident Julie was stabbed in the left temple in broad daylight in Falcon Road.

The alleged attacker who wielded the comb cannot be named for legal reasons.

Julie lay in a coma for four months without regaining conciousness.

Her family came to England from Sierra Leone in 2006 in search of a better life.

Mr Turner, for the prosecution, said a bystander told police he saw the girl take the comb from a large brown handbag.

The trial continues.
