Mr Duggan, 29, was shot by police in Tottenham on August 4, 2011 as he climbed out of a minicab allegedly holding a loaded gun.

Judge Keith Cutler, who was unveiled as assistant deputy coroner, will hold a pre-inquest hearing on January 28 at North London Coroner’s Court.

The announcement was made a day after a retrial started at the Old Bailey into the events which led to Mr Duggan’s shooting.

Kevin Hutchinson-Foster, 30, is on trial accused of supplying Mr Duggan with the gun he allegedly held on the day of his death.
