Mohammed Shabir Ali, of east London, is accused of possessing a document entitled 44 Ways to Support Jihad.

He is also charged with assisting another person to commit acts of terrorism.

The document was written by American-born Anwar al Awlaki, who was killed last year in a drone strike after leading al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

Ali will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today charged over the two offences which are alleged to have taken place between August 20, 2008 and June 21 last year.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said two men, aged 24 and 30, and a 21-year-old woman, remained in police custody.
