A date for sentencing a major events company following the death of a Wapping pensioner has been set.

Jain Ulla, 66, father of Tower Hamlets councillor Abdal Ullah, died after being hit by a bicycle as he crossed the track under the supervision of stewards during the London Triathlon in 2009.

The judge ran out of time during a hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court in March after race organisers IMG, along with its subcontractor At Your Service, admitted to health and safety breaches at the event.

The companies will be sentenced at the same court on May 21.
