A Queensbury teenager has been convicted of stabbing a man to death in south west London.

Omar Harrison, 19, of Kenmore Road, was one of three men who attacked and knifed Mahad Mohammed in July 2010.

The Old Bailey heard Harrison, Jermaine Sawyers, 19, and Cori Lindsey, 18, attacked the 20-year-old in the Winstanley Estate in Battersea, at 1.30am.

Residents of the estate were woken up by the sounds of shouting and Mr Mohammed’s cries for help with witnesses recalling him running away while heavily bleeding before collapsing.

A post mortem result showed he had been stabbed four times in his back, hip, chest and neck.

Today (Friday) at the Old Bailey, Harrison was found guilty of manslaughter.

Sawyers and Lindsey, both of no fixed address, were convicted of murder.

They will be sentenced at a later date.

Detective Inspector Dave Reid, investigating officer, said: “Mahad Mohammed was viciously assaulted and murdered by a group of men that included Sawyers, Harrison and Lindsey.

“Whatever the reason for his meeting with Sawyers that evening, Mahad was outnumbered and brutally attacked without any opportunity to defend himself or get away.”
