Opemipo Jaji, 18, is also charged with attempted rape after the attack on the schoolgirl in Enfield on Friday, November 23.

At this morning’s hearing at the Old Bailey, where Jaji appeared from prison via video link, Mr Justice Saunders set a provisional trial date of April 10.

The victim, who was dressed in her school uniform, was walking along Galliard Road and was dragged inside Jubilee Park to the pitch and putt area where she was allegedly raped.

Police said she returned home after the ordeal between 7.45pm and 8pm and officers were immediately called.

She was taken to hospital where she was treated for serious injuries and underwent surgery.

No application was made for bail for Jaji today, while a date for a plea and case management hearing was set for January 31.
