Two men appeared in court today charged with murdering a man who died following a fight in Lewisham High Street.

Jayruban Vivekananthan, 26, of Woolwich, and Pirunthan Kunaratatnam, 23, appeared via video link at Bromley Magistrates’ Court.

Thierry Christian-Gnanakumar, 22, died following an attack in Lewisham High Street on November 10.

Vivekananthan and Kunaratatnam will appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday when their applications for bail will be considered, a court official said.

A plea and case management hearing for both men will take place at the same court on a date yet to be fixed.

A third man, Kohulan Podiappuhamey, 24, from Catford, was also charged with Mr Christian-Gnanakumar’s murder on Monday and remanded in custody.

Two other men who were arrested have been bailed until December and one was released without charge.
