Two men who attacked a waiter turned on two other men who intervened in the incident at a Westminster restaurant, police have said.

The assault took place outside Sergios Italian Restaurant in Great Titchfield Street.

A 32-year-old man and a 52-year-old man were outside the restaurant with friends when they saw two men attacking a waiter. When they intervened, one was attacked with a glass which shattered in his face causing serious facial injuries and the other was punched, resulting in the loss of a tooth.

Police have released CCTV images of people they want to speak to, who were dining at Sergios before the incident.

They are described as both being approximately 5ft 11ins in height, around 55 years of age and of heavy build. One was wearing a white shirt with short grey hair the other was wearing a dark shirt and had bald or thinning grey hair. Both had a strong London accent.

A third person, a woman aged approximately 40, around 5ft 6ins tall with long blonde hair and wearing a dark top, was also dining with these two men but she is not suspected of any involvement in the attack.

The incident took place on Saturday, November 10 at around 1am.
