A public consultation is currently under way into whether to close Orpington Hospital and move services elsewhere.

Arthur Shaw, from Bromley Cuts Concern, said: “It was to try to influence the MP that the hospital should not close and the services moved to the Princess Royal, Queen Mary’s and Beckenham Beacon.”

Mr Johnson said: “I urged them to take part in the consultation.”

“This is a GP led process which is looking at what services are needed.”

The public can also have their say by attending the public meetings being held at Crofton Halls in Crofton Road on August 9 at 7pm and September 19 at 2pm.
