A man arrested on suspicion of arson after a police standoff at a block of flats has been remanded in custody.
Lloyd Mason, 19, was detained by officers as firefighters tackled a blaze at Iris Court, Keir Hardie Way, Barking, on Friday afternoon.
Mason, of Burnham Road, Dagenham, appeared in custody charged with arson at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
He was remanded to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 24.
