Pair were convicted of involvement in racket which saw nicked bicycles sold on classified ads website

Police have released the images of two Kilburn men who were sentenced for their involvement in the sale of stolen bicycles on a classified ads website.
Mohammed Masselmeh, 20, and 21-year-old Alan Miah, were convicted of playing a part in the scam where more than 100 bikes were sold on Gumtree - some just hours after they were swiped.
Southwark Crown Court heard the audacious racket was uncovered when one victim discovered his brand new £550 bike for sale less than 12 hours after it was stolen from outside an office block in central London in November 2010.
Undercover police arranged to buy the bike and were met by Miah who was then arrested.
He claimed he had bought the bicycle at a market the previous weekend - a few days before the victim had bought the bike from Halfords.
But investigators discovered he had placed at least 123 adverts on Gumtree and found almost 100 text messages on a number of phones, linking him to the bike sales.
Five victims were traced and in all cases their bikes were sold within a week and in two instances it was between 24-36 hours.
Masselmah was arrested shortly after.
Miah was jailed for six months after admitting conspiring to conceal/ disguise/convert/transfer/removal criminal property.
Masselmeh was ordered to carry out 200 community service for conspiring to launder the proceeds of crime.
Both were sentenced last month.
