Bogdan Paduret was gunned down outside his home near Hampstead Garden Suburb

Four men have been jailed for life for murdering a bouncer outside his Temple Fortune home because he refused to allow a group of men into an exclusive nightclub in Mayfair.

Bogdan Paduret, known as Tony, was shot twice in the head at point-blank range as he sat in a car outside his home in Tillingbourne Gardens, near Hampstead Garden Suburb, in what police called a revenge attack.

In a six-week trial at the Old Bailey, a jury heard of the plot to kill the 29-year-old Romanian bouncer after a fight outside The Mayfair Club in Piccadilly when a group of about 10 men were refused entry in November 2010.

John Otugade, 19, of Stanford Road, Friern Barnet; Christopher N’Jie, 19, of Pennyfields, Limehouse; Errol Jeffrey, 29, of Tiller Road, Limehouse, and Danny Dixon, 30, of Sheffield Square, Bow, were found guilty of murder last week.

Dixon was on licence for manslaughter at the time of Mr Paduret’s shooting.

Prosecutor Crispin Aylett said Mr Paduret had “simply been doing his job”.

Police said Jeffrey received a cut lip in a tussle outside the club and plotted to kill Mr Paduret for showing “disrespect” to the men.

Officers said Jeffrey and Dixon carried out a series of reconnaissance missions in the lead- up to the hit before gunman Otugade shot Mr Paduret four times through the passenger side window after a colleague had driven him home from work.

Det Chief Insp Jackie Sebire said following sentencing: “Tony Paduret appears to have been targeted purely because he ‘upset’ his murderers who meticulously planned his murder in a mindless act of violence.”
