London Bridge murder: Gang of seven attacked Christopher Foster with bats and knives in case of mistaken identity
A gang of seven murdered a 34-year-old father in Borough High Street, London Bridge on Friday night, in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity.
Christopher Foster, who had a four-year-old daughter, was having a cigarette with a friend outside St Christopher’s Inn backpackers’ hostel when he was attacked by the mob.
Witnesses said they saw seven suspects wearing hooded clothing carrying baseball bats and at least one knife.
Police do not know the motive at this stage.
Det Ch Inp John Sandlin said: “At this stage of our investigation, this appears to be a case of mistaken identity.
“I am keen to identify a group of males who were seen running from St Christopher’s Inn along Borough High Street towards Elephant and Castle immediately after the stabbing.”

Mr Foster worked in administration for firm of lawyers.
