Paradise Gems in Tottenham High Road was emptied of stock by rioters and then gutted by fire at around 11.40pm on August 6.

Owner Stephen Moore was then targeted a second time by thieves, who returned to wreck of his business and broke into a safe which had remained intact – emptying it of valuable.

“Paradise Gems was a family business that had been trading for 20 years and Mr Moore had been trading in Tottenham for some 30 years. He is devastated by what happened to his business and everything he had worked so hard for over the years,” said Detective Constable Paul Coyle, of Haringey CID.

“Unfortunately like many other business owners the situation was out of Mr Moore’s control. He saw images of his business burning to the ground on television and all he could do was watch.

“I am appealing to anyone with information and particularly the two men in the images and CCTV we have released to come forward, no matter how small or insignificant they think their information is - I need to know about it.”

Call Detective Sergeant Christine Harris with information on 020 8345 0872. Call CRimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the arrest on April. He was bailed to return later this month.
