A 10-month-old boy and 14-month-old girl were found after police were called to a £1.2m house in Killarney Road, Wandsworth, last night (Wednesday).

A woman in her mid-30s was arrested on suspicion of murder and held in custody at a police station.

The deaths were being treated as a domestic incident, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

Neighbours said the family at the upmarket semi-detached property had moved in only recently and were originally from Canada.

Jackie Cook, 52, lives nearby. She said: "It's such a tragedy, I can't believe it. Last night there were police swarming everywhere. There were ambulances and police cars all along the road.

"I think they only moved a couple of weeks ago."

One neighbour, who did not want to be named, said the family seemed "very nice". She said: "It's a lovely area. We're very shocked."

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said family had been informed.
