A man arrested in connection with a police investigation into phone hacking has been bailed.
Officers from Operation Weeting, the Metropolitan Police Service’s inquiry into the hacking of telephone voicemail boxes, arrested the man in south-west London yesterday morning.
The 60-year-old man was arrested at his home address at around 6.45am on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications contrary to Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977.
He was interviewed at a south London police station and bailed to return on a date in mid-October.
