Man charged over alleged terrorist offences in Syria

A second man has now been charged in connection with the Metropolitan Police’s investigation into alleged terrorist activity in Syria.
Jubayer Chowdhury, 24, is accused of unlawfully and injuriously imprisoning John Cantlie and Jeroen Oerlemans against their will, contrary to the Terrorism Act 2000.
Shajul Islam, 26, was charged with the same offence in October.
Both will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning.
