A man has denied throwing a bottle on the track at the start of the men’s 100m final in Stratford’s Olympic Stadium last night.

Ashley Gill-Webb, 34, of Commill Court, Leeds, pleaded not guilty at Stratford Magistrates’ Court today to intentionally causing harassment, alarm or distress.

He was released on conditional bail to re-appear for trial before Thames Magistrates’ Court on September 3.

Nobody was injured during the alleged incident, and the race, won by reigning Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt, of Jamaica, continued undisrupted.
