British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for information after a man from Kentish Town was attacked on a train between Dalston Kingsland and Canonbury at about 9.30pm.

The incident happened after the suspect and the victim accidentally collided as the suspect – who was having a heated phone conversation at the time – boarded the London Overground at Dalston Kingsland.

Det Con Tony Gittins said the pair had a “verbal altercation”, but the victim then made his way further down the carriage.

“However, the suspect followed him before pulling out what is thought to be a knife,” Det Con Gittins said.

“A struggle ensued, with the victim receiving three wounds to his upper body.

“The man then left the train at Canonbury, the next station, before making off from the scene.”

Anyone who recognises the man pictured, or has any information about the attack, is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference B5/LNA of 10/04/2012. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
