Victims were beaten and had pizza ground into their hair

A teenager has been convicted of a Royal Wedding day attack which saw pizza ground in to the hair of two legal secretaries.

Kalee Powell, 18, of Northolt, and two others left Daniela Holischeck a bloodied mess following the assault in Bathurst Gardens, Kensal Rise.

Today (Wednesday), Powell was convicted of common assault and affray.

Precious Gordon, 19, of Nelson Close, South Kilburn, had already admitted identical allegations.

The Old Bailey heard Ms Holischeck had to take a fortnight off from work following the attack.

Powell was part of a gang who attacked the women after they were called ‘idiots’ when they knocked a pizza out of the hands of Ms Holischeck’s flatmate.

Ms Holischeck told jurors she felt as if it was ‘raining fists’ during the 10 minute attack on April 30 last year.

She said: “They managed to grab my hair and pull me to the ground, and started to kick me.

“I could feel pizza being rubbed in my hair - bits of cheese coming down on me.

“There was so much blood everywhere - my face was full of blood, my hair was full of blood.” Her flatmate, Birgit Habersetzer, also a legal secretary, was also attacked while two boys from the group stood watching.

The two victims - both German - had been celebrating the wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton in a local pub but had drunk only fruit juice.

The attack came to an end when a passing police car pulled up.

Powell told officers she was drunk but had been trying to stop the fight.

Judge Stephen Kramer QC adjourned sentencing until May 24 for reports to be prepared.

He told Powell: “Let it be clearly understood that when I come to sentence you all options will be open to me.”
