A criminal network of eight men have been jailed for more than 25 years collectively after intelligence developed by Bromley Police revealed they were behind a spate of burglaries last year.

Aged between 18 and 30, the men were sentenced at Croydon Crown Court on Friday (3) for stealing high powered cars during residential burglaries and later using them in further crimes at convenience stores.

A series of more than 100 offences across Bromley and Croydon were linked between April 17 and October 5 last year as they all occured within a 10 mile radius of the New Addington estate, Croydon where the majority of suspects live.

Det Insp Jerry Troon of Bromley CID said: “The disruption of this criminal network and the sentences handed down are the culmination of a major intelligence-led operation by Bromley Police, working together with colleagues from Croydon borough.

“The Metropolitan Police will continue in its relentless pursuit of organised criminal networks such as this one, targeting burglars and bringing these offenders to justice.”

Police are reminding residents to ensure doors are double locked and to keep car keys out of sight of the front door.
