Archant

Newham Mayor Sir Robin Wales dropped by a lively Diamond Jubilee party in East Ham during his tour of the borough.

Wet weather failed to put a dampener on neighbours joining together to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 60 years on the throne.

Resident Hayley Elgood said: “I would like to thank Sir Robin Wales for making our street party amazing, by turning up and greeting everyone with such warmth.

“It made all the neighbours’ day.”
