Students celebrate

Pupils wake early to get to school.

The long wait for pupils across the borough is at an end after A-level results were released this morning.

Across Brent teenagers made their way to schools and colleges in anticipation of their results which could decide which universities they go on to.

At JFS in The Mall, Kenton, 100 per cent of students passed with 80 per cent of results at A star, A or B grade.

Jonathan Miller, headteacher, said: “As a school we aim to assist every student to achieve the best they can regardless of their academic ability. We are thrilled for our students; this is a testament to all their hard work and the dedicated staff we have at JFS.”

At Copland in Cecil Avenue, Wembley, students were celebrating a 93 per cent pass rate.

Telina Fernades, 18, who got an A star and two A grades, said: “I was so nervous about coming down today I could barely sleep last night.

“I’m so happy now though, my dad is having a party for me later.”
