The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London’s nursery, catering for students’ children and based in the Tottenham Centre in Town Hall Approach Road, received a Grade 1 in all areas including overall effectiveness and leadership.

Bev Johnson, head of early years at the college, said she was “delighted” with the assessment of the nursery, which currently looks after 49 children aged from birth to eight years old.

She added: “We have a dedicated and highly-skilled team who do their utmost to make children’s experience at the nursery as positive and effective as possible.”

Inspectors were particularly impressed by all staff members’ knowledge of issues surrounding the safeguarding of children, and the special attention paid to each child’s progress.

The report said that children felt “special” and behaviour was excellent.

The report praised the use of technology, including digital cameras and microscopes, for children to learn about their environment.

They can study bugs found in their nursery garden and a live butterfly farm.
