Video: Daley Thompson speaks of Newham & Essex Beagles training

Young Team GB Double Olympic and World Decathlon champion Daley Thompson talks about his time training in the Newham & Essex Beagles athletics club in a new video.
Interviewed for sponsor EDF Energy’s ‘Energy of the Nation’ short film, Daley also joins fellow Beagles Adedoja Atanda, Rianne A Ashitey-Dennis, Matthew Baptiste, Jahmal Germain, Christopher Heaven, Corae Nourrice, Elysabeth Shitta-Bey, Stephanie E Ugbo, and under 18s Chantel E Grey, Emma Nwofor, Paris Pilgrim, and Holly Thomas.
In the video, Daley said: “One of the nice things about having a home Games is that, obviously, it’s going to improve people’s performances and, hopefully, push them towards medals they would not necessarily have won.”
Let’s hope the home crowd cheer Daley on to a gold in the diving at 8pm.
