Part of Cutty Sark Gardens in Greenwich was closed to the public earlier this afternoon after an historic explosive device was found.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers were called to deal with an incident at around 1pm.
The area, on the banks of the River Thames, was re-opened around an hour earlier once a controlled explosion had taken place.
