In what is being billed as Adele’s Final Run, brother Adam Cashman and others will embark on the 26-mile trek around the capital to raise money for neo-natal charity Cots for Tots.

DC Cashman, 30, had tried to enter the London Marathon up to five times without success and had planned to run the Edinburgh Marathon next year for the Bristol-based charity.

Donations have flooded in, with more than £2,200 already pledged to the cause.

Writing on charity web site justgiving, Mr Cashman said: “I want Adele’s memory to live on forever, Please help me complete this goal for her.”

Det Con Cashman, known to colleagues as Del Boy, had been on duty on November 5 when she was called to the scene of a phone snatch in Belsize Park Gardens.

She leapt out of the car and set off in pursuit of two teenagers, but she collapsed a few paces from her vehicle.

She was rushed to the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, but she died shortly afterwards.
