Close family members and friends of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be in attendance for the baptism of Prince George next Wednesday.
William and Kate’s baby son will be christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the little known Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace, with the ceremony starting at 3pm.
In a statement, Kensington Palace said: “Prince George will be baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby.
“The service will start at 1500hrs and will last approximately 45 minutes.”
A guest list for the ceremony, which takes place just over three months after George’s birth, has not been released but Kensington Palace has said in the past that “close members of both families” will attend.
There has also been speculation about who the Cambridges might choose to be their son’s godparents, with close friends like Hugh van Cutsem and Thomas van Straubenzee in the running.
