Harry Williams, a resident at The Lodge Nursing Home, in Lodge Lane, Collier Row, had his landmark birthday last Friday (June 29) - marking the start of a weekend full of celebrations.

Harry’s family, which spans three generations, were all present on Saturday (June 30) to host a part.

Newborn baby Jack was there too - who was born last Thursday (June 28).

The Mayor of Havering, Cllr Lynden Thorpe, also made an appearance to congratulate Harry on his birthday.

Harry grew up in Stoke Newington, north London, after he was born in 1912 and was a twin.

Sadly his sister Josie passed away last year.

Harry went into the printing trade when he left school and met his wife Vi at a dance.

They married on November 23 1940 and moved to Romford, where they had their daughter Margaret Kidman.

With him on the day of the party were Margaret, 62, from Douglas Road, Hornchurch, his five grandchildren and his 10 great grandchildren.

Other members of the family and friends also attended the momentous occasion.
