A care agency has been given a formal warning and told to make improvements after inspectors found shortcomings in its services.

Hillgreen Supported Living, in Upper Street, Islington, was reprimanded by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after a visit in March.

At the time the agency provided personal care to people at a supported living service outside the borough and currently supports three people living in the community.

The agency was warned over failing to properly assess care needs, inadequately training staff and letting care plans fall out of date.

Matthew Trainer, from the CQC, said: “These standards exist to protect vulnerable people – who cannot always speak up for themselves – from being put at risk of harm.

“It is worrying when care planning fails to take into account the individual needs of vulnerable people.”

Inspectors will return for another visit and could take further action if the situation has not improved.

The CQC has issued three warning notices to Hillgreen for not having adequate guidance for managing challenging behaviour.

Hillgreen declined to comment when contacted by the Gazette.
