Samantha Cameron invited the Theodora Children’s Trust last month to mark the occasion, along with supporters of the charity, Barbara Windsor and financer Arpad Busson.

The charity, based in Pentonville Road, Islington, organises weekly visits by “giggle doctors” who help to bring laughter, magic and fun to sick children in hospitals.

Executive director Sarika Brown said: “The event was fantastic and staff there were on hand to help us organise everything.

“We are only a small charity so it’s nice to have people to help run these things.

“We were able to meet a lot of donors who work with us, as well as a lot of supporters over the last 18 years.

“It was a brilliant night.”
