Residents of all colours, religions and sexualities to join together in one voice.

HACKNEY Pride March will take place in the borough tomorrow (Saturday) with all residents welcome to voice their opposition to hate.

The march, organised by Out East, a voluntary group fighting for gay rights, is designed to be a united and vocal opposition to prejudice and hate against all communities.

Organisers already have support from MPs, councillors, union groups and much more and are now hoping for a large turnout of residents to show the borough speaks as one against small-minded bigotry.

“We want the march to become a touch point and a platform for all the LGBT and gay community groups and charities in the borough, as well as organisations who support LGBT, queer and human rights,” said Peter Jones, of Out East.

“We want to encourage all of these groups to share information and be visible at the march.”

The march is taking place on Saturday, September 4, starting from the community space outside The Learning Trust in Mare Street at 2pm. It is scheduled to finish an hour later at St Leonard’s Church in Shoreditch.
