Royal Mail revealed the gold stamps yesterday that will capture an action image of each gold-winning Team GB member or team this summer.

To ensure collectors can get their hands on them as quickly as possible, the stamps will go one sale within 24 hours of a Team GB gold medal win, including Sundays.

Newham Post Offices selling the stamps are East Ham Post Office, High Street North; Forest Gate Post Office, Woodgrange Road; Plaistow Post Office, Barking Road; Prince Regents Lane Post Office, Prince Regents Lane; St Stephen’s Parade Post Office, Green Street; Stratford Post Office, The Broadway; and Upton Lane Post Office, Upton Lane.

The Royal Mail issued their first Olympic stamps, bearing five Olympic rings, in 1948 as all other stamps bore only images of the reigning monarch until that point.

It will also be the third time a host nation issues customised stamps to mark individual Olympic gold medal wins.

The Team GB Gold Medal stamps will be available to buy individually at 60p First Class price, or in sets of six £3.60 from 19 select Post Offices in east London, online at www.royalmail.com/goldmedalstamps, or by writing to Royal Mail Talents House, 21 South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh, EH12 9PB, or by calling 08457 641 641.
