The London Eye lit up to celebrate the 25th birthday of another world-famous icon, Where’s Wally.
Global traveller Wally sent the wheel red and white last night, and a birthday message is being played in Picadilly Circus all day today.
The Empire State Building in New York will also light up later today to celebrate the character’s quarter-century.
Cherished not just in Britain, Wally has 15 aliases in total. These include Wali in Wales, Charlie in France, Waldo in the US, Valda in the Czech Republic, Vallu in Finland , Holger in Denmark, Valli in Iceland, Walter in Germany, Hugo in Sweden and Willy in Norway.
Where’s Wally? has sold over 58 million books worldwide since the first one was published in 1987. The books have been printed in 30 languages and sold in 38 different countries.
