The former model and Forces sweetheart put in a pounding performance on streets of the capital city – crossing the finish line in under three hours.

It was the sixth marathon by the 38-year-old, with nearly £7,700 raised for charity by this afternoon (Monday).

There was also a personal best time of 2hr 54m for keep-fit mad Nell to savour.

After that it was straight home to a slap-up tea of egg, chips and beans, she revealed.

“I got home and started reading all the wonderful messages from everyone on my Justgiving site, only to set me off crying again”

“My husband made me egg, chips and beans which I devoured. The next thing, the door bell rang and my lovely nighbour’s (who had also sponsored me, so thank you! children handed me a big tiramisu, which made me feel like crying again,” she said.

Nell ran the punishing 26.2 mile long race in aid of a close family relation.

“My dad Ted is lucky to be a survivor of cancer and has just turned 60 years old,” she told her website.

“Seven years ago we didn’t think he would make it to 60. All the money raised will help us to help Cancer Research UK with their fight against cancer.”
