London is home to some of the most splendid and iconic streets in the world. It is also home to streets with some very rude sounding names.

Here is a list of 10 of the best examples.

Medieval London had many rude street names which have since been changed to something less unsavoury.

Among them: XX Place, E1 and Shiteburn Lane (the site of cesspits in 1273).

Top 10 rude London street names:

1. Bishops Butt Close, Orpington

2. Bollocks Terrace, Tooting

3. Clitheroe Road, Lambeth

4. Clitterhouse Road, Barnet

5. Cock Lane, City

6. Cumming Street, Islington

7. Gaywood Street, Elephant & Castle

8. Knobs Hill Road, Waltham Forest

9. Mincing Lane, City

10. Penistone Road, Streatham

From the list above, all of the streets still seem to exist, with the possible exception of number 2. If you know whether this street is real and is still around today, let us know in the comments below.
