M1 delays into London after coach and car crash near junction 10 on motorway

There are major delays on a southbound stretch of the M1 after a crash involving a coach and a car.

Bedfordshire Police said one person was taken to hospital in London after the accident close to junction 10 of the motorway, near Luton, shortly before 6.55am.

A police spokesman said: “One lane of the motorway remains open but people are warned that there will be disruption to travel this morning as recovery takes place.”

There are delays of three hours, with queueing traffic for 14 miles.

Traffic is being routed around the junction and back on again.
