The passenger fell under a northbound Victoria Line train at 8.44am, in the middle of the morning rush hour.

Air ambulance crews attended, but were unable to revive the man.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is being treated as non-suspicious.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to Finsbury Park London Underground station after a report that a man had been struck by a northbound Victoria Line train.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the man’s identity and inform his family.

Finsbury Park station is currently closed, and the Victoria line is suspended between Seven Sisters and King’s Cross, with severe delays reported on the rest of the line.

A TfL spokeswoman said: “We are working as quickly as we can to restore normal service to the line.”
