Man to appear in court over Orpington machete attack

A man is set to appear at Bromley Magistrates Court today (Thursday) following a machete wielding attack which left five people injured at a church in St Paul’s Cray on Tuesday evening.

Malcolm Holland, 56, of Barnfield Road, St Paul’s Cray has been charged with five counts of assault over the incident involving an elderly singing group at St Barnabas Church, Rushet Road.

He has also been charged with two counts of criminal damage and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Mr Holland has been remanded in custody until he appears in court.
