Mayor of Havering Cllr Lynden Thorpe visited an Upminster care home to commemorate a former resident and celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Cllr Thorpe unveiled a bench at Derham House Care Home, on Harwood Hall Lane, in memory of Ivy Seal. Ivy lived at the care home between 2009 and her death in January this year aged 81. The bench was donated by Ivy’s family.

The Mayor also planted a tree in the grounds to mark the Jubilee. The tree was paid for by the care home.
