The Barking Riverside development has passed a new milestone after unveiling a new mobile store.
The van is letting residents buy fresh food near George Carey Primary School, Minter Road, every Wednesday afternoon.
Families have started to move into new homes at Barking Riverside, which is to comprise more than 10,000 homes in the next two decades.
Mum Donna Blyth, of Drake Close, Barking, said: “The food store is a brilliant idea. It’s great for getting my shopping when I pick my children up from the school.”
The Barking Riverside development includes affordable homes run by the housing association called the Southern Housing Group.
