The Everyman Cinema on Sutherland Avenue will consist of a 111-seat screen alongside a 46-seater with a central bar.

It will occupy the site of a vacant restaurant opposite the petrol station by the Maida Vale junction.

Originally consisting of just one cinema in Hampstead, Everyman expanded when it acquired the independent cinema chain Screen Cinemas in 2008.

The Maida Vale branch will be the company’s fifth London cinema alongside Hampstead, Belsize Park, Baker Street and Screen on the Green. It also has four cinemas outside London in the South-East.

Everyman Media Group chief executive Andrew Myers said: “We are really excited about the possibility of being able to extend the Everyman offering into Maida Vale and hope to be in a position to confirm this for certain in the near future.”

The nearest existing cinemas to Maida Vale are branches of the Odeon multiplex chain in Whiteleys and Swiss Cottage, the independent Electric Cinema in Notting Hill and the Everyman Baker Street.
