BBC comic’s 12-year-old son found dead at family home

The 12-year-old son of BBC comic and actor Ford Kiernan has been found dead in unexplained circumstances at their family home in Glasgow, police said.

Detectives were made aware of a child’s death on Monday night.

Investigations are being carried out into the circumstances and a post mortem is to be carried out.

Ford Kiernan is best known for the comedy shows Still Game and Chewin’ The Fat.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 11.30pm on Monday January 6, police received a report of the death of a 12-year-old boy in Glasgow.

“A post-mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries are continuing.”
