Investigation after woman found dead in Homerton

A post-mortem examination was held this afternoon following the death of a woman in Homerton.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at around 9.30pm last night to a residential address in Anderson Road, where the woman, believed to be in her mid-30s, was found.

A disturbance is believed to have preceded her death.

Officers believe they know the woman’s identity but await formal identification.

The next of kin has been informed.

Police say they are keeping an “open mind” with regards to the circumstances.

Two men, aged 32 and 34, have been arrested in connection with the death and are remain in custody at an east London police station.
