The “devastated” wife of the Blackberry executive who died following a bottle attack at Pulse nightclub in south London has spoken movingly of her husband Philip Sherriff.

Telecommunications executive Mr Sherriff, 37, died yesterday (Sunday) from injuries he suffered in the attack at a party hosted by smartphone giant Blackberry, attended by pop star Jessie J in Southwark, on Tuesday night.

Mr Sherriff’s wife Jane, 34, said: “Phil was the most genuine, likeable and generous man you could ever hope to meet.

“He was a perfect husband, son, and father to our daughter aged eight and son aged five.

“His death is completely and utterly devastating.”

Mr Sherriff was attending the event as an employee of Blackberry.

Company director Ashley Charles, 25 was remanded in custody over the incident, which is being investigated as murder by police.
