Murder investigation after man dies in Southwark flat

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in a flat in Southwark.

Police were called to a flat in Frederick Road just after 10.35pm on Sunday following reports of a disturbance.

Officers arrived and forced entry to the address and found the body of a man, believed to be in his 30s, inside the property.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has yet to be identified and next of kin have yet to be informed.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place today at Greenwich Mortuary.

The Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating.

Scotland Yard said that detectives retain an open mind as to the motive for the attack.
